Teaching Accelerated Learners
At Georgia Digital School (GDS), we believe advanced learners thrive when they have opportunities to move beyond traditional classroom limitations. Our flexible online environment allows students to learn at a pace that matches their abilities while exploring their interests in greater depth.
Unique Learning for Unique Kids
For gifted kids, the four walls of a classroom can feel like the four sides of a box. Teaching gifted kids is about challenging their young, talented minds. It’s about allowing these students the freedom that comes from flexible, individualized learning approaches, and the challenge that comes from an exceptional, engaging curriculum — both of which we provide.
Challenging Honors Courses
High school honors courses are designed to help students quickly master concepts and require a high degree of independence and self-discipline. Both are valuable skills for students on the path to future success.
In honors courses, students:
- Evaluate and synthesize information
- Demonstrate more advanced writing skills
- Participate in honors projects
Who should take honors courses at GDS?
To enroll in honors courses, we recommend that high school students:
- Complete their prerequisites successfully
- Obtain a recommendation from a teacher or school counselor
- Have a strong interest in the subject
