Every student’s experience looks a little different at Georgia — and that’s the point! We’re committed to providing a respectful learning experience that is rewarding for each student’s individual needs and interests.

That’s why we offer choices for our GDS community. Whether it’s through online clubs, in-person meetups, or daily classroom interactions, your student will grow and gain confidence in the way that’s right for them — building friendships and pursuing their passions along the way.

This may sound obvious, but it bears repeating: Georgia Digital School is in Georgia.

We’re an online, tuition-free public school that believes learning is more fun when you’re part of a vibrant community of local families and teachers.

GDS offers a variety of ways for students to connect, collaborate, and celebrate together:

  • Virtual Clubs: From art and STEM to gaming and leadership, there’s something for every interest.
  • Student-Led Activities: Students take the lead in creating and running clubs and events.
  • In-Person Events: Field trips, family fun park days, and regional meetups bring our community together face-to-face. We also have an in-person prom and graduation.

Our online learning platform, K12, helps us support students in Georgia. Plus, K12 gives our students more opportunities:

K12 helps make our online school feel like your neighborhood school — personal, connected, and familiar — all from the comfort of home.

The GDS K12 Zone is a safe, moderated, interactive space where students can meet, chat, and participate in live events.

At GDS, parents and legal guardians are encouraged to take a front-row seat in their child’s education as their Learning Coach

While you don’t have to teach (that’s our Georgia-certified teachers’ job!), the Learning Coach plays an important role in their student’s success.

GDS helps Learning Coaches:

  • Stay connected with teachers and staff through email or phone calls
  • Track progress and celebrate academic and personal milestones
  • Get pro tips from other Learning Coaches in Georgia and across the USA

We make it easy for families to stay informed and involved every step of the way. We’re all in this together.
